The ESP32 DevKit V1 is the go-to board for connected projects. Its ESP32-WROOM-32 module runs two 240 MHz cores with Wi-Fi and both classic Bluetooth and BLE, and the narrow 30-pin layout leaves a free row on each side of a standard breadboard. Plug it into USB, select "ESP32 Dev Module" in the Arduino IDE and you can host a web page, publish to MQTT or read sensors within minutes.
